Lately I’ve been pondering on a new idea/concept, the idea, a social networking service for app discovery. What I imagined is an app with a layout like Instagram. I began my journey by searching the App Store for an app like what I imagined, I had no luck. I turned to the web after that, and still, not much luck. I found a few websites that offered similar concepts but none caught my eye. So I tried again, searching the App Store, and then the web, and finally, I found it. Hubbl is not exactly what I had in mind, but pretty darn close. I haven’t used it enough to write a review, but I hope everyone gives it a try.
When you download an app where does it go? Do you put it in a folder, or maybe just put it on a certain page, maybe you don’t care where it is. For me, I like to organize my apps with folders. I have a “Games” folder, a “Social” folder, an “Apple Apps” folder, you get the idea. In the past when I downloaded an app I put it in the folder it i thought belonged in. Though, about six months ago, I realized that those new apps weren’t used that much, therefore, when I needed them, I didn’t know how to use them, or I didn’t really like them. So I came up with a system, whenever I download an app, it goes on “trial”, in the “Trial” folder. Now I could see what apps needed some attention or experience. If I liked the app, it eventually made it out, and into a new folder. This helped a lot with making sure I liked an app before I kept it and eventually forgot about it until I needed it. I recommend doing this to everyone. All you need to do is make a new folder and give it a creative name, I chose “Trial”, maybe you could name it “Recently Downloaded”, whatever you chose. Then, when you get a new app, put it in there for awhile, see how you like it. If you’re one of those people who don’t use folders, make it a page, you just won’t be able to name it. I hope everyone gives this a try, if you have an idea for a name, leave it in the comments below.
